About the District
The Timber Cove Fire Protection District is a California special district along the beautiful northern Sonoma Coast and extending east into the heavily forested coastal ridges and hills. We provide all-hazards emergency response for a wide range of incidents, including wildland and structure fire, medical aid, vehicle accidents, and rope rescue. While supported by a small paid staff, the Timber Cove Fire Department remains overwhelmingly volunteer-based.
District Size: 48 square miles, encompassing a 17-mile stretch of Highway 1
Population Served: Approximately 400 residents and up to one million visitors annually
